Stanford Spoken Word Collective is holding auditions!!!! In addition to this, we are hosting a pre-audition workshop for people to practice before the actual audition. (Info below)
PRE-AUDITION WORKSHOP
Please consider attending our pre-audition workshop, where we will model the type of activities you will encounter in the audition. It is NOT a requirement for auditioning.
The workshop will be Wednesday, October 3rd from 7-9:00 PM in the Hume Lounge.
AUDITION LAYOUT
The auditions are broken up into two parts. In the first, you will be required to perform a poem of your own creation that is under three minutes long. You are not required to memorize your poem– however, do consider that memorized poems are received well because they allow for more performance elements like body movement and eye contact. The second part of the audition will consist of a workshop, where you will produce some writing “in the moment” that you will then perform. Please bring a writing utensil or laptop/tablet.
Auditions will be held at Harmony House, October 6-7th, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM.
